Deanston Distillery is located on the banks of the River Teith near the town of Doune in central Scotland. Originally a cotton mill from the late 18th century, it was converted into a distillery in 1965. Deanston 12 is produced using traditional methods. The distillery focuses on producing whiskey with minimal intervention, using local barley and water from the nearby River Teith. The distillery is known for its commitment to sustainability and has embraced hydropower, making it the only distillery in Scotland that is self-powered. This whisky is aged for 12 years in ex-bourbon casks before being bottled.
