The Madeira Wine Company was founded in 1913 by the merger of two companies. The Blandy family runs the company. The wine cellars are located in a 200 year old loster in the center of Funchal.
The grapes for Blandy's Madeira Verdelho 10 Years Old Medium Dry are hand-picked and fermented in stainless steel tanks at temperatures between 18°C - 21°C. When the desired sweetness is achieved, fermentation is interrupted by the addition of brandy. Aging takes place in American oak barrels.
