Currently a young brand, Balcones is now considered the largest traditional Texas whiskey producer. The whiskies are produced in a specially built distillery. Even the utensils that the distillery uses for production were made in-house.

The Balcones Texas Pot Still Bourbon Whisky is produced on the basis of Blue Corn. The inauguration of the imported Forsyyths pot still was the reason for making the whiskey. Four-grain mash based on Blue Corn is blended with wheat, rye and barley malt. The whiskey matures for about 2 years in American white oak barrels.
