"Ardbeg" comes from the Gaelic and translated means something like "small hill".

The distillery is located on the south coast of the whisky region of Islay.

Since 2017, Weisshaus in Tyrol has had access to rare rarities from the Ardbeg Distillery. Mr. Osler has selected two special barrels on site from the private stocks at Ardbeg.

This Ardbeg marks the start of a fascinating three-part series, unique in the world of whisky, called the Anthology - a collection of masterpieces that enchant the senses. Like the mystical mythical creatures of the Greek myths, each Ardbeg from this Anthology series combines two beings that create a link between past and present, tradition and innovation. 'The Harpy' is a creature from ancient mythology that is both half-man and half-bird. He is elusive in nature and incomparably complex in style.

The single malt matured for 13 years in two different types of casks before being masterfully blended. First, this exquisite Ardbeg matures in very rare Sauternes sweet wine casks and then in ex-bourbon casks.
