The distillery was established through a collaboration between the Barbancourt-Linge family and La Maison & Velier, combining traditional Haitian rum-making with a transparent, artisanal production approach. It is made from Haitian sugarcane syrup, which is processed and fermented on-site. Distillation takes place discontinuously in a Mueller-manufactured still with a water-bath heating system, which allows for a highly controlled distillation process. As a pure single rum, the Providence is thus produced entirely within a single distillery and represents a distinct style within Haiti’s diverse rum tradition.

After distillation, the Providence 2020 aged for a total of four years in the tropical climate of Haiti and was bottled in 2024. Ex-Caroni rum barrels were used for aging; their previous use to hold distillates from the now-closed Caroni Distillery in Trinidad lends this edition an additional historical distinction. The rum is presented with a robust 55% alcohol content, which gives it an intense body. Habitation Velier is known for bottlings that place particular emphasis on the distillery, distillation method, and origin. The Providence 2020/2024 4 Years Old thus combines Haitian pure single rum, four years of tropical aging, and ex-Caroni barrels into a characterful 0.7-liter bottle presented in a gift box.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0865/2193/8218/files/1f870eb72ca66f6f63b0d08f86ff24665af65dc22aa0e0c460629a342a7069a4.jpg?v=1791895389
https://mydrinx.shop/es/products/habitation-velier-providence-haiti-pure-single-rum-2020-55-vol-0-7l-in-giftbox
